This project started out as a tag that I had misted with inks and was too dark for the project I had intended it for. Of course, it wasn't getting thrown away, so a little more spray ink, some stenciling and some stamping and it became the main element of this Halloween card.
Here you can see a close up of the layers of ink on the tag, and the stamped skull image. Over those is a Tim Holtz rub-on and some distress ink that was mixed with glass bead gel and then stenciled.
The base card is a chalkboard card stock that I sanded to make it look like a dusty chalkboard. A little zig zag machine stitching that was chalked over finished the edge. The word "beware" is also Tim Holtz letters. They were painted with distress paint and then heated a bit with the heat gun to allow them to be shaped somewhat. The round tag was found in my stash and a rub-on applied after some distress stain changed its color.
Two types of ribbon were added through the hole in the tag. One was made with twisted paper ribbon that was sprayed with inks, untwisted, and then stamped with a distress ink pad. Note that I went back and added (not shown) another of the woven ribbon, I sometimes don't know when to stop!
